With Mailchimp, you can archive old, outdated, or unneeded contacts from your audiences. This allows you to reduce costs while simplifying your audiences. From time to time you may wish to archive contacts in Mailchimp. With SugarChimp, records on a target list are synced to Mailchimp. If you archive records in Mailchimp before removing them from a target list, the records will unarchive within Mailchimp. If you are using SugarChimp, please review the tips below to ensure you can successfully archive contacts in Mailchimp.
For the list whose contacts you'd like to archive, review your settings in Step 3 of your Sync Settings and follow the directions below. If you have selected:
- Only sync contacts added to the target list over to Mailchimp. Remove the records you would like to archive from the target list. Once removed, archive the contacts in Mailchimp.
- Sync All SugarCRM Contacts automatically to the Audience. Mark the records you would like to archive from the target list as opted out. Once opted out, archive the contacts in Mailchimp.
- Create Filters to automatically sync Contacts to Mailchimp. Use the filters to adjust the criteria of who is added to the target list to exclude the records of those you would like to archive. Alternatively, you can mark records as opted out in Sugar. Once records are no longer on the target list, archive the contacts in Mailchimp.
- Write your own SQL Query to automatically sync Contacts to Mailchimp. Adjust the query to exclude the records of those you would like to archive. Alternatively, you can mark records as opted out in Sugar. Once records are no longer on the target list, archive the contacts in Mailchimp.
