Webhooks are used to send data from Mailchimp to your CRM. Learn more below.
What are webhooks?
There are a couple of ways that integrations, like SugarChimp, can communicate with the apps they support. Webhooks send updates from one app to another. Webhooks are triggered when certain events happen and allow apps to efficiently communicate with each other.
How does SugarChimp use webhooks?
SugarChimp is a unique tool that is designed to keep your CRM in sync with Mailchimp. As part of this process, SugarChimp uses webhooks to send data from Mailchimp to your CRM when triggers or events occur. For example, when a change is made in Mailchimp (such as a contact's name), a webhook is sent to your CRM with this update.
How can I check my webhooks?
On a normal basis, you won't need to check or maintain your webhooks. SugarChimp maintains your Mailchimp webhook automatically. SugarChimp automatically provides Mailchimp with the correct webhook URL, ensuring seamless data sync. This process is successful assuming your CRM instance is accessible from the outside.
While not common, if updates from Mailchimp aren’t appearing in your CRM, check to make sure your webhooks are active and set up correctly.
To see the webhook in your CRM, navigate to SugarChimp Health Status within the CRM Admin page.
To see the webhook within Mailchimp, follow the steps below:
- From within Mailchimp, click Audience.
- Under Current audience, select the name of the list you're syncing.
- Using the Manage Audience dropdown on the right-hand side, select Settings.
- Click Webhooks at the bottom of the page.
The webhook that appears within Mailchimp should be active and should exactly match the webhook that appears in SugarChimp's Health Status page within your CRM. If the webhook doesn't match, we recommend reviewing your CRM server settings to ensure you can receive updates from Mailchimp.
