SugarChimp is a bi-directional, always-on integration between your CRM and Mailchimp. SugarChimp enables CRM users to see up to date campaign and subscriber information directly within your CRM and allows Mailchimp admins to use CRM fields to segment users to target campaigns to audiences. It is powered by a scalable and efficient framework that can handle large lists very well. In addition, special care has been made to prevent duplicates from being created. If you've dealt with email lists in the past then you know how much of a pain that can be!
We are always working to enhance SugarChimp and provide new features. Here are some of the most common questions we get from new customers.
SugarChimp updates Mailchimp audiences based on CRM Target lists. Can I have Target lists automatically updated or do I need to manually manage lists?
With the Basic version of SugarChimp, you'll need to manually add contacts in your CRM to a Target list in order for them to sync to Mailchimp. If you'd like a hands-off approach, the Professional and Ultimate plans gives you additional options to automatically update your Target list so no manual updates are needed.
I just purchased the SugarChimp software. I'm trying to send my Mailchimp campaign to all my contacts in SugarCRM. How do I do this?
You can find more information on this process here: Step-by-step guide for syncing all Contacts, Targets, or Leads
Does SugarChimp work with SuiteCRM and Sugar Community Edition?
Yes, SugarChimp is compatible with SuiteCRM and the Sugar Community Edition. All features of SugarChimp are compatible with all versions and editions of Sugar, including: Sugar CE, Pro, Enterprise, Corporate, SuiteCRM, On-demand, On-premise, Sugar 6.5, 6.7, 7.x and SuiteCRM 7.x-8.x
How does SugarChimp handle updates from Mailchimp? Will it create duplicates?
We will always match records between the two systems based on email address. Mailchimp makes email addresses unique on each list, which makes it the easiest, obvious choice. Data updates are dependent on records being on a synced Target List in SugarCRM. If a record is updated in the CRM and on a synced Target List, it will always push across to the matching Mailchimp subscriber.
When data is updated in Mailchimp, we check many things in SugarCRM to decide who gets updated. Here are 2 common scenarios:
A. Check how many records are matching on the Target List in Sugar?
* If there is only 1 record matching on the Target List, then we update that record's data.
* If there is more than 1 record matching on the Target List - do nothing
* If there are no matches on the Target List, go to the next check
B. Check how many records are matching across all of Sugar?
* If there is only 1 record matching in Sugar, add it to the Target List and update it
* If there is more than 1 record matching in Sugar, do not update it
* If there are no matching records in Sugar, create a new record with the data, of the default type
Again, we have configuration options to edit this default behavior. You can view more about our advanced configuration options here.
What type of Mailchimp Fields are supported for syncing?
You can sync unlimited Mailchimp fields into your CRM. However, you will want to make sure they are either "Text", "Number","Date","Radio Buttons" or "Dropdown" field types on the Mailchimp side. If you have a field that is not one of these types in your CRM that you would like to send across to Mailchimp, then you might be able to create a hidden calculated text field in the CRM based on your original field. Then, you can map your calculated field from the CRM across to Mailchimp. Mailchimp Groups syncing is also supported by SugarChimp.
